The best AI for car dealerships in 2026

Eleven dealership AI vendors compared on the job each one does, what it publishes about price, what its contract says and which OEM co-op programs cover it. DealFlo wrote this guide and lists itself first; the rest are ordered by fit.

The short answer

There is no single best AI for every car dealership, because these vendors do different jobs. For answering every lead in seconds, following up for years and grading every rep call, DealFlo is our pick (we make it). If OEM co-op will pay, start with Matador AI at Stellantis stores or Impel at Ford and Lincoln stores; for AI that answers the phone, look at Matador, Podium or Numa; for call tracking and coaching, Car Wars or CallRevu; for video, Covideo; and for customer data and ads, Fullpath.

How we evaluated these vendors

DealFlo wrote this guide, and DealFlo makes one of the products in it. We list DealFlo first because it is our pick for the job we built it to do: answer and work every lead, and grade every rep call. The rest are ordered by fit, not by attacking anyone. Platforms that answer and follow up on leads come first, then the specialists in phones, call tracking, video and customer data. A lower spot means a narrower job, not a worse product.

Every vendor was checked against the same seven things, which are the columns in the table below:

  • Best for. The store and the problem each product fits, in our judgment, based on what the vendor sells.
  • Channels. Text, email, web chat, social, phone and video, as each vendor describes them.
  • Voice AI. Whether AI answers the phone.
  • Rep call grading. Whether it records and scores your salespeople's own calls. Recording the calls an AI answers is a different thing.
  • Video. Rep-recorded video, AI-generated video, or none published.
  • Contract. Term, auto-renewal and notice window, from each vendor's own terms or pricing page.
  • Pricing published. Whether the vendor lists prices on its own site. Where an OEM program publishes a vendor's price instead, we say so.

Our sources are each vendor's website, product pages, published terms, pricing pages and OEM program pages, plus Capterra, a few news reports and, for Car Wars, archived copies of its site, all checked in September 2026 and listed at the end. "Not published" means the vendor does not document something publicly; it does not mean the feature is missing, so ask in the demo. We do not quote DealFlo prices or results anywhere on this page. If anything here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Dealership AI does five different jobs

Most confusion in this market comes from comparing products that do different jobs. Sort vendors by job first, then compare the ones that do the job you need.

1. Answering and following up on leads

The AI answers internet leads by text and email within seconds, keeps following up, and books showroom appointments. DealFlo, Matador AI, Impel, Podium, TECOBI and DealerAI all sell this, and so does Spyne with its Vini AI agents. The differences that matter are how long follow-up runs (Matador's own page says "Up to about 180 days"; DealFlo runs up to three years), what gets written back to your CRM, and when the AI hands off to a person. Speed matters too; see our lead response time guide. Our guide to what an AI BDC is covers what this job should include, and DealFlo's AI BDC shows how we do it.

2. Answering the phone with AI

An AI voice agent picks up inbound, overflow or after-hours calls, answers questions and books appointments, most often for service. Matador (Call AI), Podium, Numa, DealerAI (top plan), Fullpath, CallRevu (DylanAI) and Car Wars (Cari) all sell one, and Impel's covers missed and overflow service calls. STELLA, a voice-first specialist, sells them too, as does Kenect, whose Service AI includes Voice AI. DealFlo does not answer calls with AI: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records and grades them.

3. Tracking, grading and coaching phone calls

This job records the calls your people make and take, scores them and coaches the rep. Car Wars and CallRevu are built on it. TECOBI includes call scorecards and live listen, whisper and barge, and Spyne says it scores every call through a dealership's phone system. DealFlo grades every rep call on an automotive rubric and ties the result to the lead, so Riley's next text picks up where the call left off. Recording the calls an AI answers, which several lead-response vendors do, is not the same as grading your reps. More on how DealFlo grades calls.

4. Personalized video

A rep films the car and sends it to the shopper, and the store learns when it gets watched. Covideo is the dedicated specialist. DealFlo, TECOBI and Matador build rep-recorded video into the lead conversation, and Impel generates an AI avatar video of the rep for each lead. More on personalized video.

5. Customer data and advertising

A customer data platform pulls CRM, DMS and website data together to target ads and campaigns. Fullpath is built around one and also sells AI chat, lead handling and a voice agent.

Many vendors now sell into more than one of these jobs. In a demo, ask which job the product was built for and which parts are newest.

Dealership AI vendors compared

Eleven vendors, the same seven questions. Every cell comes from the vendor's own site, terms or an OEM program page as of September 2026, and each vendor's entry further down links its sources.

The best AI for car dealerships, vendor by vendor

DealFlo comes first as the publisher's pick. The rest follow by fit: lead-response platforms first, then the phone, call tracking, video and data specialists. Within each group the order is not a score.

1. DealFlo

Best for: Stores that want every lead answered in seconds, every rep call graded, and follow-up that runs for years

DealFlo is a lead-handling system for dealerships. Riley, its AI, answers every new lead by text and email in under 30 seconds, day or night, opens differently for each lead source, and works toward a booked showroom appointment. Every rep phone call is recorded, transcribed and graded on an automotive rubric, and Riley's next text picks up where the call left off. Reps shoot personalized video of the actual car in the DealFlo app, and follow-up runs for up to three years. See DealFlo's AI BDC.

Strengths

  • Instant, source-aware lead response by text and email, plus website chat and whole conversations in Spanish
  • Every rep call graded, with rapport scored, voicemails graded and coaching in English or Spanish
  • Up to three years of follow-up on a 13-touch default cadence the store can edit, plus dead-lead, equity, lease-end and buyback campaigns
  • Certified Cox Automotive partner with two-way VinSolutions integration, ADF lead intake from other CRMs, and month-to-month terms under the standard dealer agreement

Watch-outs

  • No AI voice agent: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records and grades them
  • Not in any OEM co-op or digital program, so co-op funds will not cover it
  • Pricing is not published; it is quoted per rooftop

2. Matador AI

Visit site

Best for: Stellantis, Nissan, Honda and Acura stores that want AI text, chat and phone answering from one vendor

Matador sells five AI agents that share "one memory and one playbook" across text, voice, chat, email and Instagram (Matador). Its Call AI answers inbound, overflow and after-hours calls, and reps can send video messages inside the conversation. In August 2026 it announced 100% Stellantis co-op on five AI products, "subject to dealer fund availability," and it is one of six AI lead-nurturing providers in Nissan's dealer program. Full Matador AI comparison.

Strengths

  • AI for text, chat, email and phone from one vendor
  • 100% Stellantis co-op on five AI products, plus certified programs at Nissan, Honda and Acura
  • A certified VinSolutions partner that also markets "Live Two-Way Sync" with dealer CRMs

Watch-outs

  • Its AI Follow-Up page describes "Up to about 180 days of personalized follow-up"
  • Its terms auto-renew for the periods in the order form; notice is due at least 30 days before the term ends, only to cancel@matador.ai, and fees are "non-cancelable"
  • It records the calls its AI answers; its product pages do not describe grading reps' own calls

3. Impel

Visit site

Best for: Ford, Lincoln, Stellantis, Mitsubishi and Audi stores using co-op, and groups that want merchandising and AI from one vendor

Impel's Sales AI works leads by text and email, and its VinVision AI (May 2026) sends each lead "A hyper-realistic AI avatar video from their sales rep, personalized with their name and exact VIN." Impel also sells Chat AI, service outreach, a Voice AI for missed and overflow service calls, and the 360 WalkArounds and video tours it built as SpinCar. Its OEM programs page lists every FordDirect product as 100% co-op eligible. Full Impel comparison.

Strengths

  • Deep co-op: FordDirect 100% on Sales, Chat, Service and Voice AI; Stellantis Sales AI 100%; GM Chat AI 50% and iMR Turnkey approved
  • AI avatar video for every lead, plus VDP merchandising from the same vendor
  • A long integrations list; Impel claims "100+ integrations" across CRMs and DMSs

Watch-outs

  • Its terms renew at "then-current prices" unless you cancel in writing at least 90 days before the term ends
  • Its Nissan program sheet describes "100% lead follow-up for 2 months"
  • Its product pages do not describe recording or grading reps' own calls

4. Podium

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want texting, phones, reviews, payments and AI for sales and service in one inbox

Podium's Jerry AI works sales and service leads across text, web chat, Facebook, Instagram and email (Podium), and its Voice AI answers service calls and books "directly into Xtime or Tekion" (Podium). Podium Phones records and transcribes calls. FordDirect added Podium's AI Employee to its program in August 2025 (Just Auto). Full Podium comparison.

Strengths

  • One inbox for texting, webchat, social messages, reviews, payments and phones
  • AI for sales and service, including service booking into Xtime and Tekion
  • Names integrations with CDK, R&R, DealerSocket, VinSolutions and Dealertrack

Watch-outs

  • Its terms default to a 12-month term that auto-renews, "paid annually in advance," with no early exit
  • After termination, its terms say Podium "may delete" client data, so export what you need first
  • Call coaching appears only as an "AI Call Coaching" option on Service AI, with no detail

5. TECOBI

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want AI follow-up, rep video and call scorecards with published, month-to-month pricing

TECOBI says it "responds to new leads, follows up persistently, handles inbound replies, and hands engaged customers to your team with full context, 24/7" (TECOBI). It adds call tracking with recordings, scorecards, sentiment, and live listen, whisper and barge, plus rep video messaging. It publishes pricing: $1,995, $2,995 or $3,995 a month by store size, month-to-month. Full TECOBI comparison.

Strengths

  • Published prices and month-to-month terms
  • Call recordings, scorecards and "Unlimited AI call monitoring" on every plan
  • Rep-recorded video that can go into first-response automation

Watch-outs

  • Month-to-month adds a one-time setup fee equal to a month of service; it drops only with a 3-, 6- or 12-month commitment
  • Plans include 15,000, 40,000 or 120,000 texts, then $0.10, $0.07 or $0.05 per text
  • Its VinSolutions page says "Automated messages and individual customer replies remain in TECOBI"

6. DealerAI

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want published per-rooftop pricing, month-to-month terms and AI voice on the top plan

DealerAI, based in Markham, Ontario, sells a website chatbot, AI follow-up by text and email (Reach) and a 24/7 inbound voice agent (DealerAI). Its pricing page lists $599, $1,499 and $2,299 per rooftop a month and says "Month-to-month; cancel anytime with 30 days notice." It describes itself as "OEM-agnostic."

Strengths

  • Published prices and month-to-month terms, with no setup fee on monthly plans
  • Facebook and Instagram DMs on every plan
  • Voice AI, outbound campaigns and review requests on the All-in-One plan

Watch-outs

  • Voice AI needs the $2,299 plan, and voice usage is billed on top
  • The base CRM connection is ADF lead email, and a native DealerSocket connection is listed as "Coming soon"
  • It summarizes calls its AI handles; we found no grading of reps' own calls on its site

7. Numa

Visit site

Best for: Service departments and groups that want AI answering the phone, with GM and Ford program support

Numa calls itself "The AI Operating System for Car Dealerships" and is built service-first, with Voice AI, a Smart Inbox, LiveCSI and a Service Advisor Agent (Numa). It moved into sales by acquiring Ficus in April 2026, and FordDirect named it a "Strategic Engagement AI Vendor" in August 2026 (Numa press). GM dealers can put iMR service lane funds toward "up to 50% off" (Numa).

Strengths

  • Built around answering and handling service calls and texts
  • A FordDirect vendor, with GM iMR support
  • Adding sales tools through its Ficus acquisition

Watch-outs

  • Pricing is not published; its pricing page shows no prices
  • Its sales tools are newer, arriving through an April 2026 acquisition

8. CallRevu

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want a dealer phone system with AI call scoring and coaching, plus GM, Stellantis or Subaru program support

CallRevu, "Founded in a dealership in 2008" (CallRevu), sells a hosted phone system, lead response (Convert, which absorbed Calldrip in 2026), AI call scoring and attribution (Optimize), and coaching and role-play (Develop). Its DylanAI receptionist is built into the phone system. For GM stores it is "iMR Approved for application of up to 100% fund utilization" (CallRevu). Full CallRevu comparison.

Strengths

  • AI call scoring, coaching drawn from real calls, and AI role-play practice
  • GM iMR up to 100%, Subaru up to 50%, and a listed Stellantis Digital Certified call tracking provider
  • Lead response across phone, text, chat and email, which it says "typically responds in under 30 seconds"

Watch-outs

  • Its terms auto-renew each term unless you give written notice at least 60 days before it ends
  • Its automated lead response is new, added through the Calldrip acquisition in April 2026
  • Pricing is not published

9. Car Wars

Visit site

Best for: Stores whose main problem is the phone: tracking, recording and scoring every call, with an AI receptionist

Car Wars, "a Call Box Innovation," is a phone platform. It will "Record all phone calls and text messages, whether on tracking lines or mobile phones," scores calls on a Mystery Shop Scorecard, and sells Cari, a "24/7 AI receptionist and service scheduler" (Car Wars, archived June 2026). It rates 4.9 out of 5 on Capterra from 29 reviews. Full Car Wars comparison.

Strengths

  • Records calls and texts on tracking lines and mobile phones
  • A very long list of CRM and service-scheduler integrations
  • 4.9 out of 5 on Capterra

Watch-outs

  • LLM call coaching is an add-on that requires Car Wars Service plus CRISP Phone Training
  • We found no AI text or email lead response; texting runs through tracking lines and partners
  • The term and any termination fees sit in a separate service agreement that is not public

10. Covideo

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want a dedicated video platform for sales and service, and VW stores using co-op

Covideo, founded in 2004, is a dedicated video platform. Reps record personalized videos, send them by text or email, and "Get notifications about who's watching your videos, when, and for how long" (Covideo). Its AI drafts messages, builds VIN-specific inventory videos and offers an avatar agent. Covideo is Volkswagen's certified video messaging provider, with "100% co-op reimbursement" for enrolled VW stores (Covideo). Full Covideo comparison.

Strengths

  • Dedicated video platform with view notifications and CRM links to CDK, DealerSocket, VinSolutions, Elead and iPacket
  • 4.9 out of 5 on Capterra from 34 reviews
  • 100% co-op reimbursement for enrolled VW stores

Watch-outs

  • Its AI "does not deploy automatically or without approval," so it does not answer leads on its own
  • We found no call recording or grading product on its site
  • Annual plans renew for 12 months unless you give written notice at least 30 days before the term ends

11. Fullpath

Visit site

Best for: Stores and groups that want a customer data platform, ad targeting and broad OEM co-op in one place

Fullpath, part of Cox Automotive since June 2026 (Cox Automotive), is built around a customer data platform, with audience activation, digital advertising, a website chatbot, a Lead Handling Agent and a Voice Agent (Fullpath). Its OEM coverage is broad: its Stellantis-certified solutions are "100% co-op (T3AC) eligible," it is a GM iMR turnkey provider, and it is certified in Nissan, Honda and Acura programs. Full Fullpath comparison.

Strengths

  • A customer data platform that unifies dealership data, including across rooftops
  • Broad OEM coverage: Stellantis, GM, Nissan, Honda, Acura, Subaru, Mazda and more
  • Ads, text and email campaigns, chat and voice from one vendor

Watch-outs

  • Its lead handling page says its AI agent reaches out to fresh leads "within 10 minutes"
  • Its Supported CRMs table checks AI lead handling only for VinSolutions
  • Pricing and contract terms are not published

How to choose for your store

Start from the problem that is costing you the most deals, not from the longest feature list. Six common situations:

A Stellantis store using co-op funds

Start with the certified vendors, because co-op can cover most or all of the cost. Matador announced 100% co-op on five AI products, "subject to dealer fund availability" (Matador). Impel lists its Sales AI as "100% co-op eligible" (Impel). Fullpath says its Stellantis-certified solutions are "100% co-op (T3AC) eligible" (Fullpath). Kenect says Stellantis offers 100% co-op coverage for its Service AI, Gubagoo's Virtual Retailing is 100% co-op eligible, and CallRevu appears on Stellantis's own list of certified call tracking providers. DealFlo is not in any co-op program. If you also want every rep call graded or follow-up that runs for years, DealFlo can run alongside the co-op vendor, paid from the store's own budget.

A Ford, Lincoln or GM store

At Ford and Lincoln stores, Impel says every FordDirect product it sells (Sales, Chat, Service and Voice AI) is 100% co-op eligible (Impel), and FordDirect has also added Podium (Just Auto), Numa (Numa) and STELLA (STELLA). At GM stores, CallRevu is "iMR Approved for application of up to 100% fund utilization" (CallRevu), Impel's Chat AI is "50% co-op eligible and iMR Turnkey approved" (Impel), Fullpath is an iMR turnkey provider (Fullpath), and Numa offers up to 50% off with iMR service lane funds.

A store that wants AI to answer the phone

DealFlo is not the pick here, because it has no AI voice agent. Look at Matador's Call AI for inbound, overflow and after-hours calls, Podium's Voice AI for service calls booked into Xtime or Tekion, Numa for a service-first setup, DealerAI's All-in-One plan if you want published prices, CallRevu's DylanAI if you also want a new phone system, or Car Wars' Cari receptionist. Ask each one what happens when a sales caller asks something the AI cannot handle, and how fast a person picks up.

A store whose reps are not calling leads, or not calling them well

Software cannot make the calls, but it can make them visible. You want every call recorded and scored, a manager who sees the scores, and follow-up that does not depend on a rep remembering. DealFlo grades every rep call, sends managers a daily digest and team leaderboards, and has Riley keep following up from where the call left off. Car Wars and CallRevu are the phone-first options, with call scoring and coaching (at Car Wars, LLM coaching is an add-on). TECOBI includes scorecards plus live listen, whisper and barge. See how call grading works.

A small independent store

Watch the fixed costs and the contract. Co-op money is a franchise benefit, so compare what you would actually pay. DealerAI publishes $599 to $2,299 per rooftop a month on month-to-month terms. TECOBI publishes $1,995 a month for stores selling 100 or fewer cars a month, month-to-month, plus a setup fee equal to one month. DealFlo is month-to-month with no minimum under its standard agreement and quotes per rooftop. Whichever you pick, get the notice window in writing.

A store that wants video in the follow-up

Covideo is the dedicated specialist, with view notifications and 100% co-op for enrolled VW stores. If you want video inside the lead conversation rather than in a separate tool, DealFlo, TECOBI and Matador build rep-recorded video into the follow-up, and Impel generates an AI avatar video of the rep for each lead. See our Covideo alternatives and how DealFlo's personalized video works.

Before you sign: renewal terms and exit costs

The contract matters as much as the software. Here is what each vendor publishes about it, as of September 2026:

  • Podium defaults to a 12-month term that renews for equal periods, "paid annually in advance," with written notice due at least one month before the term ends and no early exit (Podium terms).
  • Impel renews for the length of the initial term "at Impel's then-current prices" unless you cancel in writing at least 90 days before expiration. Its terms also allow a fee of "at least 3x the monthly recurring fees" to transfer conversational data to a new provider (Impel terms).
  • Matador AI renews for the periods set in the order form. Notice of non-renewal is due at least 30 days before the term ends, sent only to cancel@matador.ai, and fees are "non-cancelable" (Matador terms).
  • CallRevu renews each term unless written notice is given at least 60 days before it ends (CallRevu terms).
  • Covideo sells monthly and annual plans; annual plans renew for 12 months unless you give written notice at least 30 days before expiration (Covideo terms).
  • Car Wars sets the term and any termination fees in a separate service agreement that is not public, and gives you 30 days after termination to request a data export (Call Box terms).
  • TECOBI, DealerAI and DealFlo sell month-to-month. TECOBI adds a setup fee equal to a month of service, discounted if you commit for 3, 6 or 12 months, and DealerAI asks for 30 days' notice. Numa and Fullpath do not publish contract terms; Fullpath's billing FAQ refers to your contract and sets Net 10 payment terms.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI for car dealerships in 2026?

It depends on the job. For answering and working every lead with every rep call graded, DealFlo is our pick, and we make it. For AI that answers the phone, look at Matador, Podium or Numa; for call tracking and coaching, Car Wars or CallRevu; for video, Covideo; for customer data and ads, Fullpath. If OEM co-op will pay, check the certified vendors for your brand first.

What is the best AI BDC for car dealerships?

An AI BDC answers leads by text and email, follows up and books appointments. DealFlo, Matador AI, Impel, Podium, TECOBI and DealerAI all sell one. Compare how long each follows up, what reaches your CRM, the contract, and whether your reps' calls are graded. Our guide to what an AI BDC is has a checklist.

How much does AI for a car dealership cost?

Most vendors quote privately. TECOBI publishes $1,995 to $3,995 a month plus a setup fee, and DealerAI publishes $599 to $2,299 per rooftop a month. Nissan's dealer program lists Matador at $1,999.99 a month and Impel's Sales AI at $1,949 for Nissan stores (April 2026). DealFlo does not publish pricing; it quotes per rooftop.

Which dealership AI vendors are covered by OEM co-op?

It depends on your brand. As of September 2026: Matador at Stellantis (100%, subject to fund availability); Impel at Ford and Lincoln (100% on four products), Stellantis (Sales AI, 100%) and GM (Chat AI, 50%); Fullpath, Kenect and Gubagoo at Stellantis (100%); CallRevu at GM (up to 100% of iMR funds); and Covideo at Volkswagen (100%). DealFlo is not in any co-op program.

Can AI answer my dealership's phone calls?

Yes. Matador, Podium, Numa, DealerAI, Fullpath, CallRevu and Car Wars all sell AI that answers calls, most often for service, and Impel's covers missed and overflow service calls. DealFlo does not: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records, grades and coaches them.

Are dealership AI contracts month-to-month?

Some are. TECOBI (with a setup fee), DealerAI and DealFlo sell month-to-month. Podium defaults to a 12-month term that auto-renews; Matador, Impel and CallRevu auto-renew with 30, 90 and 60 days' notice; and Covideo sells monthly and annual plans. Read the renewal clause before you sign.

Will AI replace my BDC or my salespeople?

It can take over the repetitive part: first replies, follow-up and reminders. People should still own phone calls, price and credit questions, and customers who ask for a person. DealFlo is built that way: Riley hands price asks, manager requests, callback demands and "I want a real person" to your team.
