The best Matador AI alternatives for car dealerships in 2026 are DealFlo, for stores that want every rep phone call graded and follow-up for up to three years on a month-to-month agreement; TECOBI, for published month-to-month pricing with call scorecards; and Impel, for franchise stores whose OEM co-op program covers the cost. The biggest difference is the contract: Matador's SaaS Agreement renews automatically for the periods in your order form unless you email written notice to cancel@matador.ai at least 30 days before the term ends, and it says all fees are non-cancelable. Matador's own FAQ also puts its AI follow-up at up to about 180 days.
Why dealers look for a Matador AI alternative
Matador is a full-featured dealership AI platform. The reasons dealers compare alternatives are specific, and each one below is sourced to Matador's own pages, documents or terms as of September 2026.
- The contract renews itself. Matador's SaaS Agreement (effective March 16, 2026) sets your term in the order form, then says the agreement "will automatically renew for successive periods as set forth in the applicable Order Form terms" unless either side gives "written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the then-current term." Cancellation notices "must be sent exclusively via email to cancel@matador.ai."
- Non-cancelable fees and no public price list. The same terms say "All fees are non-cancelable" and that ending the agreement does not "entitle Customer to any refund." Renewal fees are "subject to adjustment by Company at its sole discretion," with at least 15 days' written notice. Matador's site has no price list; fees are set in each order form.
- AI follow-up runs about six months. Matador's AI Follow-Up FAQ answers "How long will it keep working a lead?" with "Up to about 180 days of personalized follow-up that remembers the whole conversation." DealFlo's default cadence runs 13 touches over up to three years.
- Grading your reps' calls is not described. Call AI records and summarizes the calls Matador's AI agents answer, and its call coaching "reports why customers call and where calls are lost, and recommends the routing changes that book more." We found no Matador page that describes grading or coaching your salespeople's own calls.
- Consent and DNC records sit outside the VinSolutions integration. Matador markets live two-way CRM sync and is a certified VinSolutions partner. Its VinSolutions page adds: "The scope is lead data and messaging; consent and DNC records are not part of it." If your store keeps opt-outs in VinSolutions, ask how they stay in step.
DealFlo vs Matador AI at a glance
Both platforms answer new leads by text and email around the clock, open differently for each lead source, offer rep video and website chat, and hold conversations in Spanish. The differences are the phones, the follow-up horizon and the paperwork. Matador has AI voice agents and DealFlo does not. DealFlo grades every rep's calls, follows up for up to three years and runs month-to-month.

The best Matador AI alternatives
1. DealFlo
Best for: Stores that want every rep call graded and follow-up for years, on a month-to-month agreement
Riley, DealFlo's AI agent, answers new leads by text and email in under 30 seconds, day or night, opens differently for each lead source and keeps following up for up to three years. Every rep phone call is recorded, transcribed and graded, and Riley's next text picks up where the call left off. DealFlo is a certified Cox Automotive partner with a two-way VinSolutions integration, takes ADF leads from any CRM, and runs month-to-month under its standard dealer agreement.
Strengths
- Every rep call recorded, transcribed and graded with a rapport score; voicemails graded too
- Follow-up for up to 3 years on a 13-touch default cadence the store can edit
- Month-to-month standard dealer agreement with no minimum commitment
- Certified Cox Automotive partner: two-way VinSolutions, with call notes written back automatically
Watch-outs
- No AI voice agent: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records and grades them
- Not in any OEM co-op or digital program, so co-op funds will not offset the cost
- Pricing is not published; it is quoted per rooftop
2. TECOBI
Visit siteBest for: Stores that want published month-to-month pricing and call scorecards in one system
TECOBI's AI responds to new leads, follows up and hands engaged customers to your team, alongside call tracking with "call score queues, scorecards" and rep video messaging. It publishes its prices: month-to-month plans from $1,995 a month for stores selling 100 or fewer cars a month, plus a one-time setup fee of the same amount, with lower rates for 3, 6 or 12-month commitments.
Strengths
- Published month-to-month pricing on its own site
- Call recording, AI summaries, scorecards and live listen, whisper or barge
- Rep-recorded video messaging
Watch-outs
- Month-to-month adds a setup fee equal to one month; it shrinks only with a commitment
- Its VinSolutions page says automated messages and customer replies remain in TECOBI
- We found no AI voice agent on its product pages
3. Impel
Visit siteBest for: Franchise stores whose OEM co-op program covers the cost
Impel sells Sales AI (lead response and nurture by text and email), Chat AI, service outreach with voice AI for missed service calls, and merchandising tools. Its OEM programs page lists FordDirect eligibility at 100% co-op for its Sales, Chat, Service and Voice AI, and Stellantis Sales AI at 100%. Sales AI can also send each lead an AI avatar video of the rep.
Strengths
- Deep OEM co-op coverage, including 100% at FordDirect for four AI products
- Sales, service, chat and merchandising from one vendor
- AI avatar video of the rep, personalized for each lead
Watch-outs
- Its terms renew at "then-current prices" unless cancelled 90 days before the term ends
- Its terms bar using a competing full-suite vendor during the term and for 90 days after
- No public page describes recording or grading reps' own calls
4. Podium
Visit siteBest for: Stores that want phones, texting, reviews and payments from one vendor
Podium's AI agent, Jerry, answers leads across text, webchat, Facebook, Instagram and email (in about 36 seconds, per Podium), books test drives and mines the database for equity, lease and trade-in opportunities. Podium Phones records and transcribes calls. Its terms default to a 12-month subscription, paid annually in advance.
Strengths
- One inbox for calls, texts, chats, emails and form fills
- Voice AI that answers service calls 24/7 and books into Xtime or Tekion
- 180+ integrations, including CDK, Reynolds, DealerSocket and VinSolutions
Watch-outs
- Default 12-month term that auto-renews, with no early exit (ToS 8.1 and 8.3)
- Automotive pricing is quote-only
- No public page describes grading every sales rep's call
5. DealerAI
Visit siteBest for: Stores that want chat-first AI on published, month-to-month pricing
DealerAI, based in Markham, Ontario, sells a website chatbot, AI follow-up by text and email, and a voice agent for sales and service. Its pricing page lists per-rooftop plans at $599, $1,499 and $2,299 a month (the page does not state the currency), month-to-month with 30 days' notice and no setup fee on monthly plans.
Strengths
- Published pricing; month-to-month with 30 days' notice
- Chat, texting and Facebook and Instagram messages on the base plan
- Voice AI for inbound and outbound calls on the top plan
Watch-outs
- Base-plan CRM connection is ADF lead email; native DealerSocket is "coming soon"
- Voice AI needs the $2,299 plan, with voice minutes billed on top
- We found no grading of human reps' calls
6. Spyne (Vini AI)
Visit siteBest for: Stores that want AI voice agents and AI vehicle photos from one vendor
Spyne's Vini AI runs named agents for sales, service, BDC, parts and finance across phone, chat and email, next to Spyne's AI vehicle photos, 360 spins and video tours. Spyne announced a VinSolutions integration in June 2026, and its blog says Vini produces summaries and performance scores for every call through the dealership's phone system.
Strengths
- AI voice agents for sales, service, parts and finance
- Photos, 360 spins and video tours from the same vendor
- VinSolutions (June 2026) and Tekion (April 2026) integrations
Watch-outs
- Its terms bar ending the subscription during a "Lock-In Period"
- Renewals are at "Spyne's then-current pricing"; fees are non-refundable
- Vini AI pricing is not published
Where Matador AI still wins
Matador is a serious product, and for some stores it is the better fit. Here is where it is ahead of DealFlo, from its own pages.
- AI that answers the phone. Call AI runs four voice agents (receptionist, voicemail, sales and service) that answer on the first ring, route calls by your rules and book service into schedulers such as Xtime and Tekion. Its FAQ says Call AI V2 speaks Spanish. DealFlo does not answer calls with an AI voice.
- OEM co-op money. Matador announced on August 11, 2026 that eligible Stellantis dealers can receive 100% co-op reimbursement for five of its products, subject to dealer fund availability. Its OEM page also lists the Nissan program (AI lead nurturing and certified chat) and Honda and Acura certified chat. DealFlo is not in any OEM co-op program.
- Integration breadth. Matador lists 62 dealer systems, with certified partnerships at VinSolutions, eLead, DealerSocket, Xtime and AutoSync.
- Reviews. Matador's G2 badge shows 4.8 out of 5 from 47 reviews.
- Video and review invites. Matador says video messaging is included in its base package, and its review invites route happy customers to Google, Facebook and Yelp.
Who should stay on Matador AI
- Stellantis stores whose co-op funds cover Matador's AI products.
- Stores that want an AI voice agent answering sales, service or after-hours calls.
- Nissan, Honda and Acura stores using Matador through their certified programs.
- Stores partway through a Matador order form. Those fees are non-cancelable, so it can make sense to add DealFlo now for rep call grading and long-term follow-up, and decide at renewal.
How to switch from Matador AI without losing a lead
Plan the move around your renewal date, not the day you decide. These steps keep every lead covered.
- Read your order form. Matador's terms put the initial term in the order form and renew it automatically for the periods it sets. Note your term's end date and watch for a renewal fee notice, which the terms say comes at least 15 days ahead.
- Give notice the way the terms require. Send written non-renewal at least 30 days before the term ends, by email to cancel@matador.ai. The terms ask for your account information, the effective date and a clear statement that you intend to cancel, and say Matador will acknowledge receipt. Keep that acknowledgment.
- Run DealFlo alongside during the notice period. DealFlo is month-to-month, so the overlap does not start another long commitment. Split the work so no customer hears from two AIs: for example, new leads go to Riley while Matador finishes its open threads.
- Repoint lead routing. Forward your lead providers' ADF emails to DealFlo, or connect VinSolutions for two-way sync. Update every provider the same day so nothing lands in an unwatched inbox.
- Carry over opt-outs first. Because Matador's VinSolutions page says consent and DNC records are not part of that integration, ask Matador for your opt-out and do-not-contact records. DealFlo checks opt-out and DNC status before every message, so those flags need to be in place before Riley's first text.
- Bring over aged leads. Export unsold and unanswered leads from your CRM so Riley can reactivate them with a fresh angle on every touch.
- Turn on call grading. Set up recording and grading for every rep, so each call is transcribed and scored and voicemails are graded too. Recording follows state consent rules.
- Cut over when the term ends. Move the remaining sources to DealFlo and switch Matador off.
How we compared
DealFlo wrote this page, and DealFlo is one of the products compared. In September 2026 we read each vendor's own website, terms and OEM program documents, quoted them word for word where the wording matters, and listed every source below.
"Not published" in the table means the vendor does not document that capability publicly as of September 2026. It does not mean the capability is missing. Prices from third parties are labeled as third-party claims. G2 blocks automated checks, so the G2 score is as shown on Matador's own G2 badge.
If something here is out of date or wrong, contact us and we will correct it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Matador AI month-to-month?
Matador's published terms do not set a length. Its SaaS Agreement leaves the term to each order form and renews it automatically unless you send written notice at least 30 days before the term ends, by email to cancel@matador.ai. DealFlo's standard dealer agreement is month-to-month with no minimum commitment.
How much does Matador AI cost?
Matador does not publish prices on matador.ai; its terms say fees are set in each order form. Matador's own sheet on Nissan's dealer program site (April 2026) lists "Matador for Sales" at $1,999.99 a month, next to a struck-through $2,499.99, and Chat AI at $699 a month, which are Nissan-program prices and may differ for other dealers. DealershipAITools.com, a third-party directory, lists "From $299/mo", a figure we did not find on Matador's own site.
Does Matador AI grade my salespeople's phone calls?
Matador's Call AI records and summarizes the calls its AI agents answer, and its call coaching reports why customers call and where calls are lost. We found no Matador page that describes grading or coaching your reps' own calls. DealFlo records, transcribes and grades every rep call, voicemails included.
How long does Matador AI follow up with a lead?
Matador's AI Follow-Up FAQ says "Up to about 180 days of personalized follow-up." DealFlo's default cadence runs 13 touches from day 1 to year 3, and each store can edit it.
Can DealFlo run alongside Matador AI?
Yes. DealFlo is built to run next to the tools a store already has, and we found nothing in Matador's public SaaS Agreement that stops you from using another vendor, though your order form can add terms. Split lead sources between the two so no customer gets texts from both.
Does DealFlo have an AI voice agent?
No. DealFlo does not answer calls with an AI voice: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records, transcribes, grades and coaches them. If AI phone answering is a must-have, Matador's Call AI is a genuine strength.
