What are the best Podium alternatives for car dealerships in 2026?

Podium's Jerry answers leads fast, and Podium runs phones, texting, reviews and payments in one place. Here is how DealFlo and five other dealership platforms compare on contract terms, follow-up, call coaching and price, sourced to each company's own site and terms.

The short answer

The best Podium alternatives for car dealerships in 2026 are DealFlo, for stores that want AI lead response and every rep phone call graded on a month-to-month agreement; Matador AI, for a dealership-focused platform with AI voice agents and Stellantis co-op eligibility; TECOBI, for published month-to-month pricing with call scorecards; and Kenect, for dealer texting, reviews and payments. The biggest difference from Podium is the contract: Podium's terms default to a 12-month subscription, paid annually in advance, that renews for another 12 months unless you give written notice at least one month before it ends. Podium does not publish automotive pricing.

Why dealers look for a Podium alternative

Podium is a large, capable platform, and it says 6,000+ dealerships trust it. The reasons dealers compare alternatives are specific, and most come straight from Podium's own Terms of Service (version 6.3, effective June 17, 2025).

  • A 12-month term that renews itself. Section 8.1 says that unless your subscription documents state otherwise, "the initial term for any Subscription to the Services is twelve (12) months and will automatically renew for subsequent periods of equal duration." To leave, you send written notice "at least one (1) month before the end of the then-current Subscription Term," by email to support@podium.com.
  • No early exit, paid a year ahead. "Client cannot cancel or terminate a Subscription Term except as expressly permitted" by the term and termination-for-cause sections, and a client that leaves early "will be responsible for the Fees due for the entire Subscription Term." By default, "all Subscription Fees will be paid annually in advance" and are "non-refundable and non-creditable" (sections 7.2, 8.1 and 8.3). A Trustpilot reviewer put it plainly in July 2026: "lock you in for a year at a time."
  • Quote-only pricing. Podium's automotive plans page shows "Get a quote" for Podium Platform, Sales AI and Service AI. At renewal, fees can rise on "forty-five (45) days' prior written notice" (section 7.5).
  • Data and phone numbers at exit. Section 8.4 says that when the agreement ends, your access to Client Data ceases and "Podium may delete any such data in its possession at any time." A Trustpilot reviewer wrote in July 2026 that "our phone number is stuck in Podium." For balance, Podium rates 4.1 on Trustpilot (360 reviews) and 4.2 on Capterra (526 reviews), and those reviewers come from every industry Podium serves, not only dealerships.
  • Calls are recorded, but grading is not described. Podium Phones will "Record and transcribe calls automatically with AI," and the plans page lists "AI Call Coaching" as a Service AI option. We found no Podium page that describes grading every sales rep's call.

The best Podium alternatives

1. DealFlo

Best for: Stores that want AI lead response and every rep call graded, without a 12-month commitment

Riley, DealFlo's AI agent, answers new leads by text and email in under 30 seconds, opens differently for each lead source and follows up for up to three years. Every rep phone call is recorded, transcribed and graded on an automotive rubric, and reps can send a personalized video of the actual car, with an alert the moment the customer watches. DealFlo is a certified Cox Automotive partner with two-way VinSolutions, takes ADF leads from any CRM, and runs month-to-month under its standard dealer agreement.

Strengths

  • Every rep call graded on an automotive rubric, with a rapport score
  • Personalized rep video with an alert when the customer watches
  • Follow-up for up to 3 years on an editable 13-touch cadence
  • Month-to-month standard dealer agreement with no minimum commitment

Watch-outs

  • No AI voice agent: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records and grades them
  • Not in OEM co-op programs, so FordDirect or Stellantis funds will not offset the cost
  • Pricing is not published; it is quoted per rooftop

2. Matador AI

Visit site

Best for: Dealers who want a dealership-focused AI platform with AI voice agents

Matador runs five AI agents for first response, live conversations, follow-up, phone calls and website chat, plus rep video messaging (included in its base package) and review invites. Eligible Stellantis dealers can receive 100% co-op reimbursement on five of its products, subject to fund availability.

Strengths

  • Call AI voice agents for reception, voicemail, sales and service
  • Openers mapped to each lead source, and Spanish-language texting
  • 62 listed integrations; certified VinSolutions, eLead and DealerSocket partner

Watch-outs

  • Order-form term that auto-renews; 30 days' notice, sent only to cancel@matador.ai
  • AI follow-up runs up to about 180 days, per its FAQ
  • No public page describes grading reps' own calls

3. TECOBI

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want published month-to-month pricing and call scorecards

TECOBI's AI responds to new leads, follows up and hands engaged customers to your team, alongside call tracking with "call score queues, scorecards" and rep video messaging. It publishes its prices: month-to-month plans from $1,995 a month for stores selling 100 or fewer cars a month, plus a one-time setup fee of the same amount, with lower rates for 3, 6 or 12-month commitments.

Strengths

  • Published month-to-month pricing on its own site
  • Call recording, AI summaries, scorecards and live listen, whisper or barge
  • Rep-recorded video messaging

Watch-outs

  • Month-to-month adds a setup fee equal to one month; it shrinks only with a commitment
  • Its VinSolutions page says automated messages and customer replies remain in TECOBI
  • We found no AI voice agent on its product pages

4. Kenect

Visit site

Best for: Stores that mainly want dealer texting, reviews and payments, plus service AI

Kenect is a dealer messaging platform with texting, webchat, reviews and text-to-pay, and it now leads with Service AI (Voice AI and Engage AI) and Leads AI, which it calls an "AI sales agent for specialty dealerships." Kenect says 10,000+ dealerships choose it, and that Stellantis is offering 100% co-op coverage for its Service AI.

Strengths

  • Texting, webchat, reviews and text-to-pay built for dealers
  • Service AI with voice, with 100% Stellantis co-op coverage per Kenect
  • 4.6 out of 5 on Capterra from 93 reviews

Watch-outs

  • Leads AI is billed as a sales agent for "specialty dealerships"
  • Pricing and contract terms are not published

5. Impel

Visit site

Best for: Franchise stores whose OEM co-op program covers the cost

Impel sells Sales AI (lead response and nurture by text and email), Chat AI, service outreach with voice AI for missed service calls, and merchandising tools. Its OEM programs page lists FordDirect eligibility at 100% co-op for its Sales, Chat, Service and Voice AI, and Stellantis Sales AI at 100%. Sales AI can also send each lead an AI avatar video of the rep.

Strengths

  • Deep OEM co-op coverage, including 100% at FordDirect for four AI products
  • Sales, service, chat and merchandising from one vendor
  • AI avatar video of the rep, personalized for each lead

Watch-outs

  • Its terms renew at "then-current prices" unless cancelled 90 days before the term ends
  • Its terms bar using a competing full-suite vendor during the term and for 90 days after
  • No public page describes recording or grading reps' own calls

6. DealerAI

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want chat-first AI on published, month-to-month pricing

DealerAI, based in Markham, Ontario, sells a website chatbot, AI follow-up by text and email, and a voice agent for sales and service. Its pricing page lists per-rooftop plans at $599, $1,499 and $2,299 a month (the page does not state the currency), month-to-month with 30 days' notice and no setup fee on monthly plans.

Strengths

  • Published pricing; month-to-month with 30 days' notice
  • Chat, texting and Facebook and Instagram messages on the base plan
  • Voice AI for inbound and outbound calls on the top plan

Watch-outs

  • Base-plan CRM connection is ADF lead email; native DealerSocket is "coming soon"
  • Voice AI needs the $2,299 plan, with voice minutes billed on top
  • We found no grading of human reps' calls

Where Podium still wins

Podium does several things DealFlo does not, and for some stores those matter more than anything above.

  • Phones and messaging in one place. Podium sells a VoIP phone system that records and transcribes calls, plus one inbox for "calls, texts, chats, emails, and form fills," reviews outreach and payments. If you want one vendor for all of it, Podium covers more ground.
  • AI voice. Jerry works phone calls, and Podium's Service AI and Voice AI "answer every inbound service call 24/7" and book appointments directly into Xtime or Tekion. DealFlo has no AI voice agent.
  • OEM programs. FordDirect added Podium's AI Employee to its program for Ford and Lincoln dealers in August 2025, and Podium's plans page says "Ask about our GM, Ford, Stellantis, and Shift Digital partnership offers." DealFlo is not in any OEM co-op program.
  • Scale and integrations. Podium says 6,000+ dealerships trust it and lists 180+ integrations, including CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, DealerSocket, VinSolutions and Dealertrack.
  • Reviews. Podium rates 4.2 out of 5 on Capterra from 526 reviews and 4.1 on Trustpilot from 360.

Who should stay on Podium

  • Stores that run their phones on Podium and want one vendor for calls, texting, reviews and payments.
  • Ford and Lincoln stores getting value from Podium through FordDirect.
  • Service departments that want AI voice booking into Xtime or Tekion today.
  • Stores partway through a prepaid annual term. Those fees are owed either way, so it can make sense to add DealFlo now for rep call grading and long-term follow-up, and decide at renewal.

How to switch from Podium without losing a lead

Podium's default term is a year, so the move is mostly about timing. These steps keep your leads, data and phone numbers safe.

  1. Find your term dates. Podium's default terms (12 months, auto-renewing, billed annually in advance) apply "Unless otherwise stated" in your subscription documents, so pull your order form and note the renewal date.
  2. Send written notice at least one month before renewal, by email to support@podium.com, as section 8.1 requires, and ask for written confirmation.
  3. Export your data and opt-outs while you have access. Section 8.4 says access to Client Data ceases when the agreement ends and Podium may delete it. Download the conversation history, contacts and opt-out list you need: DealFlo checks opt-out and DNC status before every message, so those flags should be in place before Riley's first text.
  4. Plan your phone numbers. If Podium hosts your texting or main phone numbers, ask in writing how to port them out, and start early.
  5. Run DealFlo alongside during the notice period. DealFlo is month-to-month, so the overlap does not add another annual commitment. Give Riley new internet leads while Jerry finishes open threads, so no customer hears from two AIs.
  6. Repoint lead routing. Forward ADF lead emails to DealFlo or connect VinSolutions for two-way sync, and update every lead provider the same day.
  7. Bring over aged leads and turn on call grading. Load unsold leads for reactivation, and set up recording and grading for every rep. Recording follows state consent rules.
  8. Cut over at renewal. Move the last sources to DealFlo and let the Podium term end.

How we compared

DealFlo wrote this page, and DealFlo is one of the products compared. In September 2026 we read each vendor's own website, terms and OEM program pages, quoted them word for word where the wording matters, and listed every source below. We re-checked both Trustpilot quotes on the live page on September 27, 2026.

"Not published" in the table means the vendor does not document that capability publicly as of September 2026. It does not mean the capability is missing. Prices from third parties are labeled as third-party claims, and Podium's Trustpilot and Capterra reviewers come from every industry it serves, not only dealerships.

Frequently asked questions

Is Podium month-to-month?

Not by default. Podium's Terms of Service set a 12-month initial term that renews for periods of equal length unless your subscription documents say otherwise, and non-renewal notice must reach support@podium.com at least one month before the term ends. DealFlo's standard dealer agreement is month-to-month with no minimum commitment.

How much does Podium cost for a car dealership?

Podium does not publish automotive prices: its plans page says "Get a quote" for Podium Platform, Sales AI and Service AI, and its pricing page names plans without prices. Owini, a competing vendor, claims tiers of about $399 to $899 a month and dealer quotes "north of $1,000/mo", figures Podium has not published. By default, Podium's terms bill the year in advance.

What is Podium Jerry?

Jerry is Podium's AI Employee. For dealers it answers leads across text, webchat, Facebook, Instagram and email, books test drives, works phone calls and mines the database for equity, lease and trade-in opportunities. Podium sells the same AI Employee to home services, aesthetics and retail businesses.

Does Podium grade my salespeople's phone calls?

Podium Phones records and transcribes calls with AI summaries, and "AI Call Coaching" is listed as a Service AI option. We found no Podium page that describes grading every sales rep's call. DealFlo grades every rep call on an automotive rubric, with a rapport score, and grades voicemails too.

Can DealFlo run alongside Podium?

Yes. We found nothing in Podium's Terms of Service that bars using another vendor, and DealFlo is built to run next to what a store already has. A store can keep Podium for phones, reviews or payments and use DealFlo for lead follow-up and rep call grading.

Does DealFlo have an AI voice agent?

No. DealFlo does not answer calls with an AI voice: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records, transcribes, grades and coaches them. If AI phone answering matters most, Podium's Voice AI is a real strength.
