The best Covideo alternatives for car dealerships in 2026

Covideo is a long-running, well-rated video platform. These are the options for stores that want video built into lead follow-up, or simply a different video tool, with every claim sourced.

The short answer

The best Covideo alternative depends on what you want video to do. DealFlo fits stores that want rep video inside the lead process: Riley answers every lead by text and email in under 30 seconds, delivers the rep's video on a store-branded watch page, follows up for up to three years, and every rep call is graded. TECOBI fits stores that want AI follow-up, rep video and call scorecards with published month-to-month pricing, and BombBomb fits teams that want another dedicated video tool with published per-user prices. The main difference is scope: Covideo's AI drafts videos, texts and emails for a rep to send and "does not deploy automatically or without approval," so it does not answer leads on its own, and we found no call coaching on its site.

Why dealers look for a Covideo alternative

Covideo is a good video product. It has been in business since 2004, it rates 4.9 out of 5 on Capterra, and it is Volkswagen's certified video messaging provider. The reasons to look elsewhere are mostly about what surrounds the video. Here is what Covideo's own pages and terms show, as of September 2026.

Its AI helps reps send; it does not answer leads on its own

Covideo's AI suggests a video for each lead and drafts the text or email so a rep can send it "in just three clicks" (Covideo). Covideo says its AI "does not deploy automatically or without approval" (Covideo). Plenty of stores want exactly that control. But if your problem is the lead that comes in at 9 p.m., or the rep who never sends the second message, every send still waits on a person. DealFlo's Riley answers every new lead in under 30 seconds, day or night, without waiting on anyone.

Video does not cover the phone

We found no call recording, grading or coaching product on Covideo's site, including its sitemap. That is not a flaw in a video tool, but a store that wants its reps' calls scored needs a second vendor. DealFlo records, transcribes and grades every rep call on an automotive rubric, scores rapport, grades voicemails separately, and logs the call summary to VinSolutions through its two-way integration. See how call grading works.

Annual plans renew for another full year

Covideo's terms, updated July 2026, cover both monthly and annual subscriptions. Their terms say an annual subscription "will automatically renew at the end of the Initial Term for an additional 12-month term" unless you give written notice at least 30 days before it expires, and that "All Fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable," apart from the exceptions the terms list. Monthly plans need 30 days' written notice. DealFlo's standard dealer agreement is month-to-month with no minimum.

Prices are by quote

Covideo publishes no prices; its pricing link opens a quote form. To be fair, DealFlo does not publish prices either. If published pricing matters to you, BombBomb and TECOBI both list theirs, as shown below.

DealFlo vs Covideo at a glance

Covideo is a video platform with AI helpers. Reps record personalized videos, send them by text or email, and get notified about who watched, when and for how long (Covideo). Its AI tools draft the message, turn inventory photos and specs into VIN-specific videos (VIN Reels), clean up sound and stability, and offer an AI Video Agent: an avatar the dealer picks "from our library of options" (Covideo).

DealFlo is a lead-handling system in which video is one step. Riley answers and follows up on the lead, and the rep's video of the actual car goes out inside that same conversation, so the follow-up continues from it instead of starting over in another tool. The table asks the same twelve questions we ask of every vendor. "Not published" means Covideo does not document it publicly, not that it is missing.

The best Covideo alternatives

The first four put video inside a platform that also answers and follows up on leads. The last two are dedicated video tools, closer to a like-for-like swap for Covideo.

1. DealFlo

Best for: Stores that want rep video inside AI lead follow-up, with every rep call graded

DealFlo is a lead-handling system for dealerships. Riley answers every new lead by text and email in under 30 seconds, reads the lead source and the whole conversation, and works toward a booked appointment. Reps shoot the actual car in the DealFlo app, Riley delivers the video on a store-branded watch page, and the rep is pinged the moment it is watched. Every rep phone call is recorded, transcribed and graded. More on personalized video.

Strengths

  • Video of the real car from the real rep, delivered inside the conversation Riley is running
  • The rep gets a ping the moment the customer watches
  • Every rep call recorded, transcribed and graded, and Riley's next text picks up where the call left off
  • Follow-up for up to three years; month-to-month under the standard dealer agreement

Watch-outs

  • No AI voice agent: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records and grades them
  • Not in any OEM co-op program, so VW stores cannot use co-op funds on it the way they can on Covideo
  • Pricing is not published; it is quoted per rooftop

2. TECOBI

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want AI follow-up, rep video and call scorecards with published, month-to-month pricing

TECOBI is an AI follow-up platform that says it "responds to new leads, follows up persistently, handles inbound replies, and hands engaged customers to your team" (TECOBI). With its video messaging, salespeople "record quick videos from their phone or upload pre-recorded clips," and videos can go into first-response automation. It also sells call tracking with recordings, scorecards, and live listen, whisper and barge. Full comparison: TECOBI alternatives.

Strengths

  • Rep video that can be built into the first response
  • Call recordings, scorecards and sentiment, with "Unlimited AI call monitoring" on every plan
  • Published pricing: $1,995, $2,995 or $3,995 a month by store size, month-to-month

Watch-outs

  • Month-to-month adds a one-time setup fee equal to one month; it shrinks only with a 3-, 6- or 12-month commitment
  • Plans include 15,000, 40,000 or 120,000 texts, then $0.10, $0.07 or $0.05 per text
  • Its VinSolutions page says "Automated messages and individual customer replies remain in TECOBI"

3. Matador AI

Visit site

Best for: Stellantis, Nissan, Honda and Acura stores that want rep video plus AI text, chat and phone answering

Matador runs AI agents across text, voice, chat, email and Instagram (Matador), and its video messaging works in the same thread: "Your team can record, edit, save, and send video right inside the conversation." Its Call AI answers inbound, overflow and after-hours calls. In August 2026 Matador announced 100% Stellantis co-op on five AI products, "subject to dealer fund availability." Full comparison: Matador AI alternatives.

Strengths

  • Rep video recorded and sent inside the conversation
  • AI that answers the phone, which DealFlo does not offer
  • 100% Stellantis co-op on five AI products, plus certified programs at Nissan, Honda and Acura

Watch-outs

  • Its AI Follow-Up page describes "Up to about 180 days of personalized follow-up"
  • Its terms auto-renew for the period in the order form; notice of non-renewal is due at least 30 days before the term ends, sent only to cancel@matador.ai
  • Its product pages do not describe grading reps' own phone calls

4. Impel

Visit site

Best for: Ford, Lincoln, Stellantis and Mitsubishi stores that use co-op funds and want AI-generated video for every lead

Impel's Sales AI works leads by text and email, and its VinVision AI, launched in May 2026, sends each lead "A hyper-realistic AI avatar video from their sales rep, personalized with their name and exact VIN." Impel's chief product officer summed up the idea as "You record it once," after which the system produces a walk-around for each lead's car (Dealership Guy). Impel also sells 360 WalkArounds and video tours for VDPs. Full comparison: Impel alternatives.

Strengths

  • A personalized video for every lead without a rep filming each one
  • Every FordDirect product (Sales, Chat, Service and Voice AI) is 100% co-op eligible, as are its Stellantis Sales AI and its Mitsubishi U.S. products
  • VDP merchandising video from the same vendor

Watch-outs

  • The video is generated by AI from one recording of the rep, not filmed fresh for each customer
  • Its terms auto-renew at "then-current prices" unless cancelled in writing at least 90 days before the term ends
  • Its Nissan program sheet describes "100% lead follow-up for 2 months"

5. BombBomb

Visit site

Best for: Teams that want another dedicated video tool, built around email, with published per-user pricing

BombBomb is a video messaging platform whose homepage pitch is "Make your emails impossible to ignore" (BombBomb). It publishes pricing: Core is $42 per user a month billed monthly or $36 billed annually, and Core + Copilot is $70, or $56 annually. Copilot adds Smart Assignments that tell reps when to send a video, AI speaker notes, and a pre-loaded backup video that goes out automatically when a rep does not record. BombBomb has an automotive page aimed at dealers.

Strengths

  • Published per-user pricing, billed monthly or annually
  • Copilot assigns videos to reps and sends a backup video when a rep does not record
  • Tracks views, engagement and team performance in one dashboard

Watch-outs

  • Built around email: its homepage, automotive page and Copilot page do not describe sending video by text
  • BombBomb says Copilot "Works with any CRM," but its integrations directory names no dealership CRM such as VinSolutions, eLead or DealerSocket
  • A video tool, not a lead-response system: it does not describe AI lead response or call grading

6. VentaVid

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want a dedicated video tool for both sales and service, with a free trial first

VentaVid describes itself as "Video for sales, service, claims and inspections." Users "shoot personalized video messages and share them as stunning interactive pages," with buttons to book, pay or approve (VentaVid). Its pricing page sets out sales and service plans by number of users and videos, including uploader seats for technicians, with a seven-day free trial. Every plan is priced by quote.

Strengths

  • Separate sales and service plans, with uploader seats for technicians
  • Videos are shared as branded interactive pages with buttons to book, pay or approve
  • Seven-day free trial

Watch-outs

  • Prices are not published; plans are quoted
  • Its homepage and pricing page name no CRM integrations
  • It does not describe AI lead response or call grading

Where Covideo still wins

Covideo has real advantages, and some stores should stay on it.

  • Focus. Video is Covideo's whole business, and the company has been around since 2004.
  • VW co-op. Covideo is Volkswagen's certified video messaging provider, and VW stores that enroll through the VW Intelligence Center "receive 100% co-op reimbursement, automatically applied using available funds" (Covideo). DealFlo is not in any co-op program.
  • Ratings. 4.9 out of 5 on Capterra from 34 reviews (most from December 2022) and on Software Advice, plus an A+ from the BBB with no complaints in the last three years. The one complaint that repeats in reviews is uploads that stall: "Rarely, I record a video and it gets stuck uploading and never completes" (Capterra, 2022).
  • AI video features DealFlo does not claim. VIN Reels turns inventory photos and specs into VIN-specific videos with no filming, AI Enhance cleans up the sound and stability of rep videos, and the AI Video Agent delivers avatar videos on demand.
  • Service department video. Covideo Service brings video to the service drive, including repair-order quoting (Covideo).
  • CRM connections. Covideo lists CDK, DealerSocket, VinSolutions and iPacket, and its Elead integration shows video tracking data in the customer's record (Covideo).

Who should stay on Covideo

  • VW stores using co-op funds for video.
  • Stores whose lead response and follow-up already work, and that only need a strong video tool.
  • Stores that want a person to approve every AI-assisted message before it goes out.
  • Service departments that send video with repair-order quotes.
  • Stores that want AI-generated inventory videos or an avatar agent.

How to switch from Covideo without losing a lead

  1. Read your order form. Covideo's terms start 15 days after the order form is signed and run through the subscription term it sets. Check whether you are on a monthly or an annual plan and when the current term ends (terms).
  2. Give notice the way the terms require. Annual plans need written notice at least 30 days before the term expires, or they renew for another 12 months. Monthly plans need 30 days' written notice. Keep a copy of what you sent.
  3. Run DealFlo alongside during the notice period. DealFlo runs next to what you already use and is month-to-month, so the overlap needs no new commitment.
  4. Repoint lead routing. Forward your lead sources' ADF emails to DealFlo, or connect VinSolutions for two-way sync (DealFlo for VinSolutions). Going live takes days.
  5. Save the videos you still use. Keep copies of evergreen walkarounds and store videos before your Covideo access ends.
  6. Bring over aged leads. Load the leads that went quiet so Riley can reactivate them with a fresh angle.
  7. Start grading calls and shooting video in the app. Turn on call grading for every rep, and have reps shoot their first videos of the actual cars in the DealFlo app.
  8. Cut over. Once leads, calls and video run through DealFlo, let the Covideo term end.

How we compared

We read Covideo's website, AI product pages, terms and conditions (updated July 2026), Volkswagen program page, Elead integration post and sitemap, plus its Capterra, Software Advice and BBB profiles, in September 2026. Details about the other vendors come from their own websites, terms and OEM program sheets, plus one Dealership Guy article.

DealFlo wrote this page, and DealFlo makes one of the products compared. "Not published" means a vendor does not document something publicly; it does not mean the feature is missing, so ask in a demo. If anything here is wrong or out of date, contact us and we will correct it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Covideo month-to-month?

It can be. Covideo's terms cover monthly subscriptions, which renew month to month and need 30 days' written notice to cancel, and annual subscriptions, which renew for another 12 months unless you give written notice at least 30 days before the term ends. Your order form says which one you signed. DealFlo's standard dealer agreement is month-to-month with no minimum.

How much does Covideo cost?

Covideo does not publish prices; its pricing link opens a quote form. Capterra and Software Advice list a Basic plan at $69 a month, a directory figure that may not reflect dealership packages. DealFlo does not publish pricing either; it quotes per rooftop.

Does Covideo grade my salespeople's phone calls?

We found no call recording, grading or coaching product on Covideo's site as of September 2026. DealFlo records, transcribes and grades every rep call, grades voicemails separately, and coaches calls in English or Spanish.

Can DealFlo run alongside Covideo?

Yes. DealFlo runs next to what a store already uses, so you can keep Covideo through its notice period while Riley handles lead response, follow-up and call grading. Once your reps are shooting video in the DealFlo app, decide whether you still need both.

Does DealFlo have an AI voice agent?

No. DealFlo does not answer phone calls with an AI voice. Calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records, grades and coaches them.

Is Covideo's AI Video Agent the same as a video from my rep?

No. Covideo's AI Video Agent is an avatar the dealer picks "from our library of options" to deliver lead-tailored videos, and Covideo itself says "Videos recorded by people remain the gold standard." DealFlo's video is your rep filming the actual car the customer asked about.
