The main Impel alternatives are DealFlo, for stores that want month-to-month terms, follow-up that runs for years and every rep call graded; Matador AI, for stores that want AI agents across text, chat and phone with Stellantis and Nissan program coverage; and DealerAI, for smaller stores that want posted prices from $599 per rooftop a month. The biggest difference is the contract: Impel's terms renew automatically for the length of the initial term at then-current prices unless you cancel in writing at least 90 days ahead. At Ford, Lincoln and Stellantis stores, Impel's co-op eligibility can outweigh that, so run the numbers before you move.
Why dealers look for an Impel alternative
Impel is a serious platform with real strengths, covered below. The reasons to compare it come mostly from its own Service Terms & Conditions, updated February 25, 2026, and from its own program materials.
Renewal and notice
The terms say the agreement "will be extended automatically for periods of time equivalent to the Initial Term or the then-current renewal term at Impel's then-current prices" unless it is "cancelled in writing at least ninety (90) days prior to the expiration." Notices go to notifications@impel.ai by 2pm ET on the last business day of the month, or they count as received the next month. Payment obligations are "non-cancellable" and fees paid are "non-refundable." The termination clause covers uncured breach and insolvency; we found no right to cancel for convenience.
After the agreement ends
During the term and for 90 days after it, the terms bar using a "Third-Party Vendor", defined as "a supplier that provides an entire integrated suite of services similar to or competitive with the products or services provided by Impel," for substantially similar services. And "upon request by Customer to transfer any conversational data to a new provider, Impel reserves the right to charge a fee equivalent to at least 3x the monthly recurring fees at the time of termination."
Bundles
"If a Customer cancels any one of the services bundled in an Order Form, Impel has the right to cancel the applied discount and invoice the full price listed on the Order Form for the remaining services." Dropping one product can raise the price of the rest.
How long the follow-up runs
Impel's own sheet for Nissan dealers promises "100% lead follow-up for 2 months" and says Sales AI "Follows up persistently over 51 days" (Nissan program sheet); its Kia program copy says "persistent long-term nurturing." DealFlo's default cadence runs 13 touches over three years.
Your reps' phone calls
Impel's Voice AI works the service phones: it answers calls live and turns missed and overflow calls into text conversations (Voice AI, Service AI). We found no Impel page on recording or grading your salespeople's own calls. DealFlo records, transcribes and grades every one.
DealFlo vs Impel at a glance
Impel is a full AI operating system: sales, service, chat, marketing and merchandising, with a service voice agent and AI avatar video. DealFlo is narrower. It works the lead from first text to booked appointment, follows up for years, and grades every rep call.
Both answer new leads instantly and tailor the first reply to the lead source. The gaps run both ways: Impel has AI voice for service, merchandising and OEM co-op; DealFlo has rep call grading, multi-year follow-up and month-to-month terms. Impel's video is an AI avatar of the rep built from one recording; DealFlo's is the rep filming the actual car (personalized video).

Riley, DealFlo's AI agent, answers every new lead by text and email in under 30 seconds and follows up for up to three years, with a fresh angle every touch. - Every rep call graded with a rapport score; voicemails graded too
- Video the rep shoots of the actual car, with an alert when the customer watches

Strengths
- Call AI answers inbound, overflow and after-hours calls
- Stellantis co-op, plus Nissan, Honda and Acura program listings
- Rep-recorded video messaging inside the conversation
Watch-outs
- Term set in the order form; auto-renews with 30 days' written notice to leave
- Follow-up runs up to about 180 days, per its own FAQ
- No public page on grading reps' own phone calls
3. Podium
Visit siteBest for: Stores that want one vendor for messaging, phones and reviews
Podium's Jerry works sales and service leads across text, webchat, Facebook, Instagram and email (Sales AI). Its Voice AI answers service calls 24/7 and books "directly into Xtime or Tekion" (Service AI), and FordDirect added Podium's AI to its program in August 2025 (Just Auto).

- Texting, phones, webchat, reviews and payments on one platform
- In FordDirect's program for Ford and Lincoln dealers

4. Spyne (Vini AI)
Visit siteBest for: Stores replacing Impel's merchandising and conversational AI together
Spyne pairs AI vehicle photos, 360 spins and video tours (pricing) with Vini AI, agents for sales, service, BDC, parts and finance that work phone, chat and email around the clock (Vini AI). It announced a VinSolutions integration in June 2026 (PR Newswire).
Strengths
- Merchandising and conversational AI from one vendor
- Voice, chat and email agents for sales and service
- VinSolutions (June 2026) and Tekion (April 2026) integrations

5. DealerAI
Visit siteBest for: Smaller stores that want posted prices and month-to-month terms
DealerAI posts per-rooftop pricing: $599 a month for website chat and AI texting, $1,499 with AI follow-up by text and email, and $2,299 with Voice AI, voice minutes extra. Its pricing page says "Month-to-month; cancel anytime with 30 days notice" and shows no setup fee on monthly plans (pricing).
Strengths
- Published prices from $599 per rooftop per month
- Month-to-month, with no setup fee on monthly plans
- Voice AI and review requests on the top plan
Watch-outs
- Voice AI only on the $2,299 plan, with minutes billed on top

6. Numa
Visit siteBest for: Stores that mainly used Impel for service calls and service follow-up

GM dealers can get "up to 50% off Numa using their available iMR Service Lane funds" (Numa), and FordDirect named it a strategic AI vendor in August 2026 (press).
Strengths
- Service-first Voice AI and smart inbox
- GM iMR Service Lane funds can cover up to 50%
- FordDirect strategic AI vendor since August 2026
Watch-outs
- No price list on its site

Where Impel still wins
Impel has advantages DealFlo cannot match today, and some stores should stay.
- Breadth. Sales AI, Service AI, Chat AI, Marketing AI and Merchandising AI run on one platform, including 360 walkarounds and video tours from its SpinCar roots (Merchandising AI). DealFlo does not sell merchandising or a service-department product.
- OEM co-op. At FordDirect stores, Impel's Sales, Chat, Service and Voice AI are "100% co-op eligible"; its Stellantis Sales AI is 100% co-op eligible; and its GM DDS Chat AI is "50% co-op eligible and iMR Turnkey approved" (OEM programs). Hyundai certified its Chat AI for dealers in September 2026 (Impel). DealFlo is in no OEM program.
- AI voice for service. Impel's Voice AI "picks up every call in real time," answers routine questions and books service on the call. DealFlo has no AI voice agent.
- AI video at scale. With VinVision AI, each lead gets "a personalized AI avatar video" of the rep and a custom digital dossier (Sales AI); the rep records once and Impel builds a walk-around for each car (Car Dealership Guy).
- Scale. Impel says it is trusted by 8,000 dealers and OEMs in 50+ countries (Impel).
Who should stay on Impel
Ford, Lincoln, Stellantis, Mitsubishi and Audi stores that fund Impel with co-op money, groups using its merchandising and service AI together, and stores that want an AI voice agent on the service phones. For them the co-op math may favor staying. Adding DealFlo's call grading and long-tail follow-up beside Impel is possible, but read Impel's exclusivity clause with counsel first.
How to switch from Impel without losing a lead
- Find your dates. Your Order Form sets the initial term. Under Impel's terms, cancellation must reach Impel in writing at least 90 days before the term ends, or the agreement renews for another term of the same length at then-current prices. Put that deadline on the calendar.
- Send notice the way the terms require. Email notifications@impel.ai by 2pm ET on the last business day of the month; later notices count as received the next month. Keep the confirmation.
- Check exclusivity before running anything alongside. Impel's terms bar a rival "entire integrated suite" vendor for substantially similar services during the term and for 90 days after it. Read that clause and your Order Form with counsel before starting another vendor; DealFlo is month-to-month, so it can start the day you are clear.
- Plan the data move. Ask Impel in writing what a transfer of your conversation history would cost, since the terms allow a fee of at least 3x the monthly recurring fees. Export what your CRM already holds, including opt-out and DNC status.
- Repoint lead routing. Forward ADF lead sources to DealFlo, or connect VinSolutions through DealFlo's two-way integration.
- Bring over aged leads and set up call grading. Load unsold and dead leads into DealFlo for reactivation, and connect your reps' calls so every one is graded from the first day.
- Cut over at term end, and switch off Impel's automations so no lead gets two sets of texts.
How we compared
We read Impel's own pages in September 2026: the homepage, the Sales AI, Service AI, Chat AI, Marketing AI, Merchandising AI and Voice AI pages, its OEM program pages and its Service Terms & Conditions. Pricing and follow-up figures come from Impel's own sheet on Nissan's dealer program site and from Nissan's program matrix. G2 and Capterra block automated reading, so this page quotes no Impel reviews.
DealFlo wrote this page, and DealFlo's entries describe our product as it runs today. "Not published" in the table means the vendor does not document that item publicly; it may still exist. Nothing here is legal advice, so read your own agreement. If anything here is wrong or out of date, contact us and we will correct it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Impel month-to-month?
Not under its published terms. Impel's Service Terms & Conditions set the initial term in your Order Form and renew it automatically for the same length at Impel's then-current prices, unless you cancel in writing at least 90 days before it ends.
How much does Impel cost?
Impel does not publish prices on impel.ai. Its sheet for Nissan dealers lists Sales AI at $1,949 and Chat AI at $950, or $2,500 together, and Nissan's program matrix shows Sales AI at $1,949 a month as of April 8, 2026 (Nissan sheet). Those are Nissan-program prices, and other dealers may pay differently.
Does Impel grade my salespeople's phone calls?
We found no Impel page describing it; its Voice AI handles service calls. DealFlo records, transcribes and grades every rep call, with a rapport score.
How long does Impel follow up with a lead?
Impel's Nissan sheet says "100% lead follow-up for 2 months" and follow-up "over 51 days", while its Kia program copy says "persistent long-term nurturing." DealFlo's default cadence runs 13 touches over three years.
Can DealFlo run alongside Impel?
DealFlo is built to run next to existing tools and is month-to-month, but Impel's terms include an exclusivity clause that covers the term and 90 days after it. Read that clause with counsel before running both.
Does DealFlo have an AI voice agent?
No. Calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records, grades and coaches them. If an AI voice agent on the service phones matters most, Impel offers one.
