The best Car Wars alternatives for car dealerships in 2026

Car Wars is a call tracking and phone platform built for dealerships, with strong reviews. If you want every rep call graded and coached inside the system that also answers and follows up your leads, or you want a different contract, these are the options worth a demo.

The short answer

The closest like-for-like Car Wars alternative is CallRevu, which pairs call tracking and AI call scoring with its own hosted phone system, an AI receptionist, GM and Subaru co-op eligibility and Stellantis Digital Certified status. Marchex and Invoca fit groups that care most about call attribution and conversation analytics, and TECOBI fits stores that want call scorecards next to AI texting at published, month-to-month prices. DealFlo fits stores that want every rep call graded and coached inside the same system that answers new leads in under 30 seconds and follows up for up to three years, on a month-to-month agreement. The main differences to weigh are Car Wars' AI coaching being sold as an add-on, no AI text or email follow-up in its product list, and terms that sit in a non-public Service Agreement.

Why dealers look for a Car Wars alternative

Car Wars is "a Call Box Innovation" based in Dallas. It sells call tracking, a cloud phone system, CRISP phone training and an AI receptionist to dealerships, and its 2025 industry report analyzed "phone performance across thousands of dealerships." Its parent company says it "helps more than 42,000 businesses" across several industries (Call Box). If you are comparing it with other options, these are the points to weigh.

  • AI coaching is an add-on. Car Wars' own call coaching FAQ (2025) says its LLM coaching "is included with the CRISP Phone Training add-on" and that "accounts must have Car Wars Service along with the CRISP Phone Training add-on." Scorecards and alerts are in the core product; the coaching notes come with the add-on.
  • It is a phone platform, not a lead follow-up system. Its product list covers call tracking, a cloud phone system by GoTo Connect, CRISP training and Cari, an AI receptionist and service scheduler. Texting runs through text-enabled tracking lines and integrations with Gubagoo, Kenect and DriveCentric. We found no Car Wars product that answers internet leads by text or email or keeps following them up, so that job stays with another tool or your BDC.
  • The contract lives in a separate agreement. Call Box's terms of service (updated May 18, 2026) say the term "shall coincide with the term of the applicable Service as set forth in a separate Service Agreement" and that "Terminations and Termination Fees, as applicable, are processed in accordance with Your Service Agreement." The public terms do not say whether that agreement auto-renews, so the order form you sign is the document that matters. After termination you have 30 days to request a data export, and once the export window closes, "Call Box may delete Your Data."
  • Pricing is not published. Car Wars' Capterra listing shows "Contact vendor" and no free trial, and we found no price on its own pages.
  • What reviewers flag. Reviews are strong: 4.9 out of 5 from 29 on Capterra. Two 2025 reviewers who still gave 5 stars noted "It assigns the calls to the wrong call takers at times" (adding that it is easy to fix) and that it "can be slow to load at times, causing delays during high-volume call periods" (Capterra reviews).

DealFlo vs Car Wars at a glance

The two products start from opposite ends. Car Wars starts with the phone line: tracking numbers, routing, recording, attribution and scorecards, plus an AI receptionist. DealFlo starts with the lead: Riley answers it by text and email in under 30 seconds and follows up for up to three years, and every rep call on that lead is recorded, transcribed, graded and coached, with the recording, score and summary posted on the lead and Riley's next text picking up where the call ended.

Both record and score calls, so the real question is what else you need. Ad attribution by tracking number is Car Wars' job, not DealFlo's. Coaching on every rep call, tied to everything else that lead has said, is DealFlo's. See how DealFlo grades a call.

The best Car Wars alternatives

DealFlo is listed first because we make it. The rest are ordered by how closely they match what Car Wars does today, and each summary links to the vendor's own page.

1. DealFlo

Best for: Stores that want every rep call graded and coached inside the system that answers and follows up their leads

DealFlo is a lead-handling system, not a call-tracking vendor. Riley, its AI, answers new leads by text and email in under 30 seconds and follows up for up to three years. Every rep call is recorded, transcribed and graded on an automotive rubric with a rapport score, voicemails are graded too, the summary lands on the lead, and Riley's next text continues from the call. See how call grading works.

Strengths

  • Every rep call graded against what that call was for, with a rapport score
  • Voicemails graded on their own rubric; calls coached in English or Spanish
  • Two-way VinSolutions as a certified Cox Automotive partner; ADF lead intake for other CRMs
  • Month-to-month with no minimum term on the standard dealer agreement

Watch-outs

  • No AI voice agent: calls ring your reps, and DealFlo grades them
  • Not a call-tracking vendor: no per-source tracking numbers or ad attribution
  • Not in any OEM co-op program, and pricing is quoted per rooftop rather than published

2. CallRevu

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want phones, call tracking, AI scoring, coaching and co-op eligibility from one vendor

CallRevu was "Founded in a dealership in 2008" and says it is "Trusted by over 5,000 dealerships." It sells a hosted phone system, lead response (it bought Calldrip in April 2026), call tracking with "AI-powered call scoring" (Optimize) and coaching tools including CallCoach and an AI Mystery Shopper. Its DylanAI receptionist is "built into the foundation of our phone system," in its CEO's words (announcement).

Strengths

  • OEM programs: GM up to 100% fund utilization, Subaru up to 50%, Stellantis Digital Certified
  • AI call scoring, sentiment and multi-agent voice ID in one analytics product
  • AI role-play practice and real-time coaching alerts for managers

Watch-outs

  • Terms auto-renew unless you give written notice 60 days before the term ends
  • No prices on its site; the initial term sits in a non-public Services Agreement
  • Few public reviews: 3 on Capterra (4.3 of 5), dated 2021 to 2024

3. Marchex

Visit site

Best for: Groups that want call attribution and conversation analytics benchmarked across rooftops

Marchex sells conversation intelligence, call tracking and attribution, and business texting. Its automotive page says "We analyze over 300 million dealer calls per year," and describes alerts on missed sales and service opportunities, performance benchmarking across locations, and conversation data added to "your GA4, CRM, and CDP."

Strengths

  • Call tracking and attribution tied to marketing ROI
  • Real-time alerts when a sales or service call ends badly
  • Performance benchmarking across dealership locations

Watch-outs

  • No prices on its homepage or automotive page
  • Its automotive page does not name which CRMs it connects to

4. Invoca

Visit site

Best for: Marketing-led groups that want deep call attribution plus AI scoring of every call

Invoca's automotive page leads with "AI agents and revenue attribution for automotive." It tracks how "channels, campaigns, ads, keywords, and websites drive online and offline leads and conversions," says its AI "analyzes 100% of calls to identify the specific agent or staff member and score their performance," and adds an AI voice agent and an AI messaging agent for texts.

Strengths

  • Attribution down to the campaign, ad and keyword
  • AI scoring of every call, matched to the staff member
  • AI voice and SMS agents in the same platform

Watch-outs

  • No dollar prices: every plan on its pricing page is quote-based
  • Contract length and billing terms are not stated on its pricing page
  • Sold across eight industries; automotive is one of them

5. TECOBI

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want AI texting plus call scorecards at published, month-to-month prices

TECOBI is an AI texting and lead platform with a call-tracking module: recorded calls, AI summaries, transcripts, sentiment, "call score queues, scorecards," and live listen, whisper or barge for managers. Every plan includes "Unlimited AI call monitoring," and its pricing page lists $1,995, $2,995 or $3,995 a month on month-to-month terms, plus a one-time setup fee equal to one month.

Strengths

  • Published prices and a month-to-month option
  • Call scorecards and coaching queues next to AI texting and follow-up
  • Live listen, whisper and barge for managers

Watch-outs

  • Month-to-month adds a setup fee equal to one month; it shrinks only with a 3, 6 or 12-month commitment
  • Texts are capped by plan (15,000 to 120,000), then billed per message
  • In VinSolutions, "Automated messages and individual customer replies remain in TECOBI"

6. Podium

Visit site

Best for: Stores that want phones, texting, reviews and an AI agent from one vendor

Podium says "6,000+ dealerships trust Podium." Its phones "Record and transcribe calls automatically with AI" and add AI call summaries, and its Jerry AI answers leads and calls and books appointments. "AI Call Coaching" appears as a Service AI option on its plans page, without further detail.

Strengths

  • Phones, texting, webchat and reviews in one inbox
  • AI call recording, transcription and summaries
  • In FordDirect's program; advertises GM, Ford and Stellantis partnership offers

Watch-outs

  • Default term is 12 months, auto-renewing, paid annually in advance
  • No early cancellation under its default terms, except for cause
  • Call coaching is listed only as a Service AI option

Where Car Wars still wins

Car Wars has real strengths for dealers, and some of them are things DealFlo does not do at all.

  • Tracking-number attribution. Its DNI website call tracking ties "actual opportunities, not just call counts, to ads, campaigns, and keywords" (features). DealFlo does not sell tracking numbers or ad attribution.
  • Scorecards on every call. The Mystery Shop Scorecard gives store-level and roll-up reporting on phone skills "on each call," upgraded with AI-fueled scorecards at NADA 2025 (release), and it sits on top of the CRISP phone-handling method and certification.
  • An AI receptionist for service. Cari handles calls and warm transfers and schedules service appointments 24/7, and its news page lists scheduler connections to Xtime, CDK (through Fortellis), myKaarma and UpdatePromise. DealFlo has no AI voice agent.
  • Integration breadth. Its product list names VinSolutions, eLead, DealerSocket, DriveCentric, CDK Drive, Tekion, Reynolds and Reynolds FOCUS, DP360, Momentum and Salesforce, plus Gubagoo, Kenect, Fullpath and an open API.
  • People in the loop. Its AI is described as "Human-in-the-loop," and its call recaps are "Human-reviewed summaries" (features), for managers who want a person, not only a model, reading calls.
  • Ratings. 4.9 out of 5 from 29 reviews on Capterra.

Who should stay on Car Wars

  • Stores whose marketing reporting depends on tracking numbers and DNI attribution.
  • Service departments that want an AI receptionist booking appointments into their scheduler.
  • Teams already invested in CRISP training and certification.
  • Stores that want the phone system, tracking and alerts from one dealer-focused vendor, and handle lead follow-up elsewhere.

If the job you need done is coaching every rep and working every lead for years, that is where DealFlo fits, and it runs alongside what you already use.

How to switch from Car Wars without losing a lead

  1. Find your end date. Call Box's terms put the term and any termination fees in your Service Agreement, so start with that document.
  2. Give notice the way the terms require. You end service by terminating the Service Agreement "in accordance with its terms by providing written notice to cancel@callbox.com."
  3. Request your data export in writing. Call Box makes your data available for export if you ask within 30 days of termination, for another 30 days, and may delete it after that. Save the recordings and reports you want to keep.
  4. Plan your phone numbers. Your ads, listings and website may show Car Wars tracking lines. Ask how those numbers are handled at the end of your term, and update anything that points at a number you will lose.
  5. Run DealFlo alongside during the notice period. DealFlo is month-to-month, so you can start before your Car Wars term ends.
  6. Repoint lead routing. Forward ADF lead emails from your lead sources or CRM to DealFlo; VinSolutions stores can use the two-way certified integration.
  7. Bring over aged leads. Load unsold and dead leads so Riley can work them with a fresh angle (dead lead reactivation).
  8. Turn on call grading, then cut over. Review the first week of graded calls and coaching with your managers, then cut over when your Car Wars term ends.

How we compared

DealFlo wrote this page, and we make one of the products on it. We compared Car Wars and each alternative on the same twelve capabilities, using public sources only: vendor websites and terms, Internet Archive snapshots of carwars.com (the live site blocked automated reads when we checked), and Capterra listings. Everything was checked in September 2026 and is linked under Sources.

"Not published" means the vendor does not document the capability publicly; it does not mean the product lacks it. We left out figures we could not confirm on a primary page, including G2 scores and a Car Wars dealer count, which we did not find on its own pages. If something here is wrong or has changed, contact us and we will correct it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Car Wars month-to-month?

Car Wars does not say publicly. Call Box's terms tie the term to "a separate Service Agreement" and handle any termination fees under that agreement, so your order form is the place to check. DealFlo is month-to-month with no minimum term on its standard dealer agreement.

How much does Car Wars cost?

Car Wars does not publish prices, and its Capterra listing shows "Contact vendor" with no free trial. We found no reliable third-party price to repeat. DealFlo does not publish prices either; it quotes per rooftop.

Does Car Wars grade my salespeople's phone calls?

Yes. It records calls on tracking lines and mobile phones, runs a Mystery Shop Scorecard on each call and provides human-reviewed call recaps, and its LLM coaching notes come with the CRISP Phone Training add-on. DealFlo grades and coaches every rep call, with a rapport score, inside the same system that follows up the lead.

Can DealFlo run alongside Car Wars?

Yes. DealFlo runs alongside what a store already uses and is month-to-month, so you can start it while your Car Wars agreement runs out. Stores that rely on tracking-number attribution can keep a tracking vendor for that job, since DealFlo does not sell it.

Does DealFlo have an AI voice agent?

No. Calls ring your reps, and DealFlo records, transcribes, grades and coaches them. If you want AI answering the phone, Car Wars (Cari) and CallRevu (DylanAI) both sell an AI receptionist.

What is the difference between call tracking and call grading?

Call tracking tells you which ad or source made the phone ring and whether anyone answered. Call grading scores what the rep actually said and coaches the next call. Car Wars does both, with AI coaching as an add-on; DealFlo does the grading and coaching, not the tracking.
